Special attention has been focused in this randomized study on the primary function of renal allografts preserved with different solutions. Histidine-Tryptophane-Ketoglutarate (HTK) and University of Wisconsin (UW) solutions provided a significantly lower incidence of delayed graft function compared to Euro-Collins solution. Improved renal function after transplantation was observed in the HTK and UW groups compared to the EC group.
