The incidence of allergic diseases in children from poor ecological areas in the towns Nizhnekamsk, Kazan, and Almetyevsk, and in the rural settlement of Kukmor was studied. Allergic skin diseases in the children were shown to prevail in the structure of allergies despite the place of their residence. In the rural area (Kukmor), the incidence was 5-10 times lower than that in the urban areas. A correlation analysis has shown that there is a definite association of the incidence of allergic diseases and their prevalence with the characteristics of ambient air pollution. The findings suggest that measures reducing allergic diseases and environment pollution in these towns should be introduced.
