Abstract

The vitamin A activity and the quantitative correlation of individual fatty acids in the liver oil of Barenz Sca cod were investigated. Seasonal changes of its composition and nutritional value were educed. The vitamin A activity varies according to seasons by more than twice each way and the content of dominant acids undergoes material changes. The greatest nutritional value has been found to display the medicinal cod liver oil of the fish caught during the autumn and winter months and the least - of that caught in spring and summer.
