Studied was the effect of infrared rays on the titers and the protein fractions of the blood serum in birds treated with the La Sota vaccine. Results showed that the gamma-globulin fraction and the titers rise as established through the hemagglutination-inhibiton reaction. This made it reasonable to believe that the reticuloendothelial system was favourably activated as regards the immunogenesis against the Newcastle Disease virus. The rise in the gamma-globulin level coincides in time with the highest titer as found by means of the agglutination-inhibition reaction, the titers in all experiments being higher in the sera of the irradiated birds and the variations on the 20th day being mathematically significant.
