It has been shown that most of the intracellular potassium of turtle heart can be replaced by cesium. 2. The uptake of cesium is reduced by the presence of either DNP 5.10(-5) M or ouabain 10(-6) M in the external medium. The presence of 10(-5) M ouabain markedly inhibits the uptake of cesium. 3. These results lead to the conclusion that the intracellular accumulation of cesium occurs via an active inward transport system wich operates with the simultaneous efflux of sodium.

已表明龟心脏细胞内的大部分钾可被铯取代。2. 外部介质中存在5×10⁻⁵ M的二硝基苯酚（DNP）或10⁻⁶ M的哇巴因会降低铯的摄取。10⁻⁵ M哇巴因的存在显著抑制铯的摄取。3. 这些结果得出结论：铯在细胞内的积累是通过一个活跃的内向转运系统进行的，该系统在钠同时外流的情况下运作。
