The normal serum concentrations of short-chain fatty acids C2--C6 (acetic to n-caproic) were estimated by gas chromatography in 35 children aged 4-16 years. Individual fluctuations were wide. The highest mean level concerned acetic acid (6.98 +/- 3.71 mug/ml), whereas the mean concentrations of other SFA were considerably lower and did not exceed 1.0 mug/ml except for n-caproic acid (1.34 mug/ml).
采用气相色谱法对35名4至16岁儿童短链脂肪酸C2 - C6（从乙酸到正己酸）的正常血清浓度进行了估算。个体波动范围较大。平均水平最高的是乙酸（6.98±3.71微克/毫升），而其他饱和脂肪酸的平均浓度则低得多，除正己酸（1.34微克/毫升）外均不超过1.0微克/毫升。
