Abstract

The gene encoding the halorhodopsin (hR)-like protein was cloned and sequenced from Haloarcula japonica strain TR-1. The structural gene consisted of an open reading frame of 828 nucleotides encoding 276 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence of the Ha. japonica hR-like protein showed the highest homology to those of cruxhalorhodopsins. Furthermore, we have demonstrated that the Ha. japonica chR gene is transcriptionally induced by light.

从日本嗜盐菌TR-1菌株中克隆并测序了编码嗜盐视紫红质(hR)样蛋白的基因。该结构基因由一个828个核苷酸的开放阅读框组成,编码276个氨基酸。日本嗜盐菌hR样蛋白的推导氨基酸序列与十字嗜盐视紫红质的氨基酸序列具有最高的同源性。此外,我们已经证明日本嗜盐菌的嗜盐视紫红质基因在转录水平上受光诱导。
