[Transabdominal termino-esophago-proximal gastrectomy for portal hypertension. An analysis of 61 cases].

The results of transabdominal termino-esophago-proximal gastrectomy in 61 patients with portal hypertension were presented. The patients were followed up for 2 to 7.5 years. Two patients died from the surgery. There was no esophageal varix rebleeding during the follow-up period. We conclude that it is a good method for controlling bleeding varices.
