The field of clinical enzymology has markedly progressed in recent years. Diagnostic enzymology, therapeutic enzymology and enzymes as analytical reagents continue to contribute to the progress of health care. However, there are many aspects of the historical changes that have taken place in this field that are surprisingly unknown. The presentation I am about to give attempts to provide an overview of the history of the development of clinical enzymology and clinical chemistry. I hope it will be of reference to you.
