Abstract
By means of two original histochemical methods, the folate metabolism was investigated in the gastric glands proper. The presence of a high concentration of folic acid and dihydrofolate reductase in the parietal cells suggests a straight metabolic interrelation between the intrinsic factor, vitamin B12 and folate in these gland cells.
