Diagnostic arthroscopy in 25 patients below 18 years of age was performed. Clinical diagnosis was confirmed in 48% of cases. The differences occurred mainly in diagnoses of menisceal injuries. In 10 cases (40%) arthroscopy indicated no need for further surgical treatment. In the author's view more frequent use of arthroscopy in diagnosing knee problems in children is justified.
