[The rate of growth and the production of bacterioplankton in the Volga].

The time of generation and production of bacteria were assayed in the Volga river. The time of generation of bacterioplankton was ca. 35.6 to 62.1 hrs per season during different years. The mean daily production of bacteria during a season was 30-50% of the biomass. The duration of vial exposition for estimating the time of generation and production was determined experimentally for conditions of the Volga.
