When applied externally to the cockroach giant axon, the substance 9-aminoacridine diminishes both sodium and potassium conductane increases. The K+ CURRENT DIMINUTION SHOULD BE DONE TO A 9AA-induced potassium inactivation or to an accumulation of K+ ions in the periaxonal space.
