An experimental study of the capsules formed around the net lavsan prostheses at periods of from 7 days to 5.5 years demonstrated that in the process of prolonged implantation morphology and metabolism of the capsule connective tissue underwent changes which could be associated with the release from the implants of low molecular products producing a damaging effect on the tissues surrounding the implant.
