The effect of nicophesone on the processes of cojugation and alkaline phosphatase was studied in tests staged on albino rats and rabbits poisoned with carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). Nicophesone is shown to stimulate conjugation of bilirubin with glucoronic and sulphuric acids and to depress the activity of alkaline phosphatase. The data obtained are considered inasmuch as they concern the hypobilirubinemic action of nicophesone.
