[Use of zirconium alloys in endoprostheses and osteosynthesis appliances].

The application of titanium alloys to osteosynthesis appliances and endoprostheses in becoming difficult due to shortage of titanium. The composition of the BT5-I titanium alloy and comochromium and zirconium alloys was compared. In terms of mechanical properties, the zirconium alloys are acceptable for the above application.
