To investigate the anti-lipid peroxidation of the water extract from Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum (WECCP) in vitro.
The lipid peroxidation (malondialdehyde formation) in microsomes of rat brain, liver and kidney induced by NADPH-Vit C and cyctein-Fe2+, and the superoxide anion radical production (reduced cytochrome c formation) in xanthine-xanthine oxidase system in vitro were evaluated.
The lipid peroxidation (MDA formation) in microsomes of rat brain, liver and kidney induced by NADPH-Vit C and cyctein-Fe2+, O2 production(reduced cytochrome c formation) in xanthine-xanthine oxidase system were significantly inhibited by WECCP.
WECCP exhibits an antioxidant activity.
