Comparisons have been made between a number of routine quality assurance (QA) measurements and a number of related subjective aspects of image quality. These comparisons between lateral resolution and perceived definition, dynamic range and subjective grey-level assessment, and slice thickness and overall image quality appraisal showed very poor correlation. We deduce from this that other QA parameters are needed to quantify good image quality as defined by the operators.
