The White Bear Suppression Inventory (WBSI) is a self-report questionnaire measuring tendency to suppress unwanted intrusive thoughts. The aim of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of the WBSI in a Turkish sample.
Thirty patients who were diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) according to DSM-IV criteria and 47 healthy subjects were included in the study. Internal consistency and homogeneity were tested by Cronbach a and Pearson correlation analysis. Student's t test and Pearson correlation analysis were used for test-retest reliability. Validity was assessed by Student's t test in independent groups.
Psychometric analyses showed that the WBSI had a high internal consistency (a=0.92). All of the items' scores were positively correlated with the total scores. The items of the WBSI discriminated the patients with OCD from the healthy subjects except for item 5.
The Turkish version of the WBSI has appropriate reliability and validity for assessing suppression tendency of unwanted intrusive thoughts.
白熊抑制量表（WBSI）是一种测量抑制 unwanted 侵入性想法倾向的自陈式问卷。本研究的目的是检验 WBSI 在土耳其样本中的信效度。
本研究纳入了 30 例根据 DSM-IV 标准诊断为强迫症（OCD）的患者和 47 名健康受试者。通过 Cronbach α 和 Pearson 相关分析检验内部一致性和同质性。采用 Student's t 检验和 Pearson 相关分析进行重测信度检验。通过独立组的 Student's t 检验评估效度。
心理测量分析表明，WBSI 具有较高的内部一致性（α = 0.92）。所有项目得分均与总分呈正相关。除项目 5 外，WBSI 的项目能够区分 OCD 患者和健康受试者。
WBSI 的土耳其语版本在评估 unwanted 侵入性想法的抑制倾向方面具有适当的信效度。
