A woman, 38 years, submitted to left nephroureterectomy for renal transplantation in 1993. During 9 years, she was asymptomatic, and then she presented intermittent left flank pain. Radiographic workup demonstrated a textiloma.
In a review of the literature since 1950, solely 8 cases of textiloma in renal surgeries were reported, probably due to legal implications.
