Abstract

Previously published studies on the relationship between brown adipose tissue thermogenesis and sudden infant death were examined and evidence was collated to support the hypothesis that a decreased level of mitochondrial uncoupling protein (or thermogenin) from the brown fat in some brown fat depots may play a role in SIDS aetiology.
