Psychotherapy group intervention with children based on the use of community meeting.
To describe a model group intervention that is based on developmental level and applicable across a broad spectrum of behavioral and psychiatric disorders. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the development of this model on one inpatient unit, the benefits of the model and implication for future research, including a simple model of the stages of group development.
A review of the literature and the author's experience in the development of a model group intervention.
The model is a flexible and broadly applicable one, which may be utilized by a variety of staff, including relatively inexperienced line workers.
