Overall 19 male patients with attack-like schizophrenia were examined within the first 1-2 months since the disease manifestation till the onset of the antipsychotic treatment. To characterize the T immunity system, use was made of the E-rosette formation test and a kit of monoclonal antibodies. It has been revealed, that in the peripheral blood of the schizophrenic patients, the T lymphocyte count was noticeably decreased, the relative count of the cells of both the regulatory populations was increased, being statistically significant only for helpers. The ratio of T helpers to T suppressors remained unchanged. The count of poorly differentiated T lymphocytes turned out noticeably increased.
