Decreased glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity has been shown in the red cells of workers employed in the works producing ferro-manganese alloys in comparison with that in the control group. Tobacco smoking and duration of the occupation did not affect the activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in red cells.
