Based on the published sequences of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) isolates highly conserved regions of the gag and env genes containing immunodominant epitopes were selected and expressed in E. coli. The expression vectors pKK24 and pEX41 produced viral proteins recognized by sera obtained from HIV-1 seropositive individuals. A testing system was designed to determine the practical value of bacterially synthesized proteins of HIV-1 gag and env genes for serodiagnosis of HIV-1 infection.
根据已发表的人类免疫缺陷病毒(HIV-1)分离株序列,选择了含有免疫显性表位的gag和env基因的高度保守区域,并在大肠杆菌中进行表达。表达载体pKK24和pEX41产生了能被HIV-1血清阳性个体的血清所识别的病毒蛋白。设计了一个检测系统,以确定HIV-1 gag和env基因的细菌合成蛋白在HIV-1感染血清学诊断中的实际价值。
