The medico-historical collection of the Karl-Sudhoff-Institute for the history of medicine and science, at the university of Leipzig, is part of the oldest institute for the history of medicine in the world. Objects (originals and replicas) dates from about 2000 b.c. to the present. Medical instruments from the fields of surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, gynecology and obstetrics, urology, as well as medals, seals of medical faculties and plaster clasts with medical subjects are included. New objects were (and are still) mainly incorporated through donations. Now all objects are catalogued and all information about one object are combined in a new data bank. At the same time is made a digital photo of each object, and a slide-collection is developed. Exhibitions on certain themes or subjects can show how medical approaches and instruments changed over time, wether brought about with continuity or abrupt changes. At present the collection does not own any premises to accomodate bigger exhibitions. The specimens are stored and are therefore generally not open to the public.
位于莱比锡大学的卡尔·苏多夫医学与科学史研究所的医学历史藏品，是世界上最古老的医学史研究所的一部分。藏品（原件和复制品）的年代约从公元前2000年至今。包括外科、眼科、牙科、妇科与产科、泌尿科领域的医疗器械，以及奖章、医学院印章和带有医学主题的石膏模型。新藏品过去（现在仍然）主要通过捐赠纳入。现在所有藏品都已编目，关于每件藏品的所有信息都整合在一个新的数据库中。同时，为每件藏品拍摄数码照片，并制作幻灯片集。特定主题或专题的展览可以展示医学方法和器械是如何随时间变化的，无论是持续演变还是突然变革。目前该藏品没有任何场地来举办大型展览。标本被妥善保存，因此一般不向公众开放。
