[Trichinellosis in Poland in 2004].

The total number of 163 cases of human trichinellosis was reported in Poland in 2004. Out of 163 cases 155 were notified from 6 outbreaks. In two outbreaks more than 50 persons were ill. Boar meat was the source of infections in 5 of the outbreaks. The presence of Trichinella endemic areas in the north, central and east parts of the country still determines the necessity of careful meat surveillance on Trichinella spp.
