Abstract

A simple and inexpensive method to obtain substantially platelet-free and erythrocyte-free lymphocyte preparations from human peripheral blood has been established, using a modification of the technique published by Vives et al. (1971). Lymphocyte levels of up to 3 x 10(6) per ml blood have been obtained, with 2-3% platelet and erythrocyte contamination per ml blood, by pre-aggregating platelets with low concentrations of adenosine 5'diphosphate (ADP).
