From considerations of a simple kinetic model and of measurement of blood flow in tissues with inert radioactive gases, a set of practically applicable equations are presented to allow measurement of perfusion coefficients, permeability-surface area products, distribution volumes, and interstitial diffusion coefficients for hydrophilic, extracellular indicators.
