[Solitary fibrous tumor in the pelvic space: a case report].

A 49-year-old man presented to our hospital complaining of difficulty in urination. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a 10 cm mass posterolateral to the bladder. It was separated from the bladder, seminal vesicle and rectum, but indistinct from the prostate. Preoperative pathological diagnosis was established by transrectal needle biopsy as solitary fibrous tumor. The tumor and the prostate were resected en bloc by retropubic radical prostatectomy, while the bladder and rectum were preserved. The surgical margin was negative and no relapse was noted six months postoperatively.
