[Urban renewal--a contribution to healthy living within the city].

The article describes urban renewal and redevelopment as is being attempted in the city of Augsburg, Germany: The old residential areas in the city are preserved and improved: by modernisation of flats; by improving the environmental conditions in residential quarters. Focus is on coming to grips with the problem of vehicular traffic. The article points out possibilities of cooperation between urban redevelopers and Public Health staff.
