Both daunorubicin and doxorubicin were found effective in inhibiting proliferation of rabbit conjunctival fibroblasts in vitro. The 50% inhibition dose for daunorubicin was 0.14 micrograms/ml, and 0.46 micrograms/ml for doxorubicin, the former being stronger. The authors were hopeful that these drugs would prove useful in preventing cicatrization after glaucoma filter surgery.
柔红霉素和阿霉素在体外均能有效抑制兔结膜成纤维细胞的增殖。柔红霉素的50%抑制剂量为0.14微克/毫升，阿霉素为0.46微克/毫升，前者作用更强。作者希望这些药物能被证明对预防青光眼滤过术后的瘢痕形成有用。
