Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Pemphigus vulgaris (PV), an autoimmune disease affecting the skin and mucous membranes, is associated with some human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class II alleles and haplotypes.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

In order to evaluate the association of HLA-DR and DQ alleles and haplotypes in Iranian non-Jewish patients with PV, 52 patients with PV and 180 normal subjects as control group were investigated in this study.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

HLA-DRB104, -DRB11401, -DRB4, -DQA10104, -DQA103011, -DQB10302, and -DQB10502 alleles have been significantly increased in our patients group. Moreover, the haplotypes HLA-DRB104/-DQA103011/-DQB10302 and HLA-DRB11401/-DQA10104/-DQB10502 increased significantly in our patients. In contrast, the following alleles decreased significantly in our patients: HLA-DRB115, -DRB10301, -DRB107, -DRB111, -DRB5, -DQA10101, -DQA10103, -DQA1201, -DQA105, -DQB10201, -DQB10301, -DQB106011, and -DQB10602. In addition, HLA-DRB115/-DQA10103/-DQB106011, HLA-DRB10301/-DQA105011/-DQB10201, HLA-DRB107/-DQA10201/-DQB10201, and HLA-DRB111/-DQA105/-DQB103011 decreased significantly in our patients. Genetic factors are involved in the occurrence of PV; HLA-DRB104 and -DRB11401 alleles and the related haplotypes are suggestive to be two major PV susceptibility factors in our population study.

为了评估伊朗非犹太裔PV患者中HLA-DR和DQ等位基因及单倍型的关联性,本研究调查了52例PV患者和180名正常受试者作为对照组。

结果与讨论

在我们的患者组中,HLA-DRB104、-DRB11401、-DRB4、-DQA10104、-DQA103011、-DQB10302和-DQB10502等位基因显著增加。此外,单倍型HLA-DRB104/-DQA103011/-DQB10302和HLA-DRB11401/-DQA10104/-DQB10502在我们的患者中显著增加。相比之下,以下等位基因在我们的患者中显著减少:HLA-DRB115、-DRB10301、-DRB107、-DRB111、-DRB5、-DQA10101、-DQA10103、-DQA1201、-DQA105、-DQB10201、-DQB10301、-DQB106011和-DQB10602。此外,HLA-DRB115/-DQA10103/-DQB106011、HLA-DRB10301/-DQA105011/-DQB10201、HLA-DRB107/-DQA10201/-DQB10201和HLA-DRB111/-DQA105/-DQB103011在我们的患者中显著减少。遗传因素参与了PV的发生;HLA-DRB104和-DRB11401等位基因以及相关单倍型在我们的人群研究中提示为两个主要的PV易感因素。
