[The Charles Bonnet syndrome].

The Charles Bonnet syndrome characterizes by the presence of very vivid hallucinations that occur in otherwise normal people with vision problems. Patients are aware that their hallucinations are unreal and proceed from their brain. The most plausible hypothesis may be the presence of two streams of information: one from the periphery to the centre and its opposite. As the flow from the periphery to the centre diminishes, the flow in the opposite direction rises up.
