Abstract

AIM

To investigate the feasibility of using diffusion-weighted MR imaging (DWI) to accurately measure breast cancer extension.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

The extensions of 59 breast lesions were investigated on DW images and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps and compared to the pathological exams.

RESULTS

Three groups were observed: accurate, overdiagnosis, and false negative. There were no significant differences seen in accurate or false-negative group when b was 500 and 1000 s/mm(2) when two lesions in the overdiagnosis group at both b values.

CONCLUSION

DWI and the ADC value have potential for evaluating cancer extension.

目的

研究扩散加权磁共振成像(DWI)准确测量乳腺癌扩展的可行性。

材料与方法

在 DW 图像和表观扩散系数(ADC)图上对 59 个乳腺病变的扩展进行了研究,并与病理检查结果进行了比较。

结果

观察到三组:准确、过度诊断和假阴性。在 b 值为 500 和 1000 s/mm² 时,准确或假阴性组的两个病变没有差异,而在过度诊断组的两个病变在两个 b 值时也没有差异。

结论

DWI 和 ADC 值具有评估癌症扩展的潜力。
