Ophthalmic pathology is not only a golden standard in diagnosing ocular tumors, but also provides the effective and fast criteria for evaluating the completeness of excision. The development of pathological biopsy in minimally invasive operation and targeted therapy facilitates the application of molecular pathology, and then, stimulates the development of pharmaco-pathology and targeted diagnostic pathology. After the application of these novel procedures into the treatment of ocular tumours, the pathologists are required to take part in the tumor treatment, and it also demands higher level ophthalmic pathologists and ocular tumor experts.
