The trachea of a 50 year-old woman was intubated for management of respiratory failure following neurotoxic snake bite. She developed bilateral vocal cord palsy following intubation and was managed with tracheostomy and other supportive measures. Vocal cord palsy is a rare complication of intubation, which, in most situations, is preventable.
