In the crystal structure of the title compound, Cd(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)·4H(2)O, the Cd(II) atom, on an inversion centre, is six-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and two N atoms from 4,4'-bpy mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions between uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms of fumaric acid and water mol-ecules contribute to the crystal packing stability.
在标题化合物Cd(C₁₀H₈N₂)(H₂O)₄·4H₂O的晶体结构中，位于对称中心的Cd(II)原子由四个水分子中的四个O原子和4,4'-联吡啶分子中的两个N原子以扭曲的八面体配位几何构型进行六配位。富马酸未配位的羧酸根O原子与水分子之间的弱C-H⋯O相互作用有助于晶体堆积的稳定性。
