Two patients with Dacron bifurcation prostheses developed recurrent aseptic purulent inflammation around the prostheses. After replacement of the Dacron prostheses with PTFE prostheses the symptoms disappeared, suggesting that an allergic reaction or a foreign body reaction was responsible for the inflammation.
