Abstract

During the period of 1959-1985 the activity of the foci of anthrax in Voronezh Province was found to be related to the state of some meteorological factors in the previous year and the number of murine [correction of myomorphous] rodents in hayricks and stacks of straw in early spring of the current year, this relationship being stable and statistically significant. Multiple regression equations permitting the annual quantitative prognostication of the intensity of the epizootic and epidemic situations were worked out.
