CONCLUSIONS
The mortality for necrotizing soft-tissue infections appears to be decreasing, possibly due to improved recognition and earlier delivery of more effective therapy. Establishing a diagnosis and initiating treatment as soon as possible provides the best opportunity for a good outcome.
