Team work in building up a basic medical service. - This article reports on a project of Swiss aid to the developing country of the Peruvian Andes, whose organization is completely integrated into the national Peruvian ministry of health. After having stated the social and medical problems the article explains, how a team of Swiss doctors tries to reach to remote parts of a developing country by means of a medicine adapted to the economical situation of the poor farmer population. This is achieved by training local health auxiliaries and teaching them preventive medicine. On the other hand the curative medicine has to take second place and is concentrated mainly on a large scale tuberculosis programme. Ideas, experiences, problems and first evaluations are set out and discussed.
