[Cytochrome oxidase activity of peripheral blood leukocytes in patients with diffuse toxic goiter].

Patients with diffuse toxic goiter showed a distinct reduction of the cytochromoxidase activity in the peripheral blood leucocytes. The degree of reduction of the cytochromoxidase activity in the leucocytes depended on the severity of the clinical course and degree of increase of the thyroid gland. Results of determination of the cytochromoxidase activity of leucocytes in patients with diffuse toxic goiter in association with other clinico-laboratory data reflect the severity of the clinical course of the disease, the hypoxia degree and efficacy of instituted treatment.
