Alports syndrome: a cause of Horner's syndrome due to internal carotid dissection?

This case illustrates the importance of prompt investigation and management in a patient with localising physical signs. The significance of having the gene for Alports syndrome is unknown, but is of interest as this may have bearing on the aetiology of this patient's diagnosis.
