Children's vision develops very early on in life and constitutes their first connection with their surroundings. Recommendations emphasise the importance of early screening to improve learning at school. The pre-primary school period, between the ages of 3 and 6 is the ideal time for this. Child care nurses thereby have an important role to play in terms of health education and orientation.
