Based on the study of subcutaneous injection of lecithin-cholesterol liposomes, its possible toxic effect is discussed and the effect threshold is determined. It is shown, that long-term subcutaneous liposome administration is attended with hepatic cell damage. One or two injections of the preparation does not cause a toxic lesion of the viscera and may be used for therapeutic purposes. A considerable threshold-subthreshold dosage range allows for vast variability of administered liposome amounts.
