Breast cancer.

Numerous important issues in breast cancer were debated this past year. Several examples include: the role of screening mammography in women aged 40-49, the management of carcinoma in situ, adjuvant chemotherapy for postmenopausal node-positive women, adjuvant therapy for node-negative women, the primary management of elderly women with breast cancer, the use of a composite of prognostic factors for better predictive power and measures to improve the therapeutic index of the anthracyclines.
