To investigate the effects of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitted by a third generation (3G) mobile phone on the antioxidant and oxidative stress parameters in eye tissue and blood of rats.
Eighteen Wistar albino rats were randomly assigned into two groups: Group I (n = 9) received a standardized a daily dose of 3G mobile phone EMR for 20 days, and Group II served as the control group (n = 9), receiving no exposure to EMR. Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and catalase (CAT) levels were measured in eye tissues; in addition, malondialdehyde (MDA) and reduced GSH levels were measured in blood.
There was no significant difference between groups in GSH-Px (p = 0.99) and CAT (p = 0.18) activity in eye tissue. There was no significant difference between groups in MDA (p = 0.69) and GSH levels (p = 0.83) in blood.
The results of this study suggest that under a short period of exposure, 3G mobile phone radiation does not lead to harmful effects on eye tissue and blood in rats.
研究第三代(3G)手机发出的电磁辐射(EMR)对大鼠眼部组织和血液中抗氧化及氧化应激参数的影响。
将18只Wistar白化大鼠随机分为两组:第一组(n = 9)接受标准剂量的3G手机EMR每日照射,持续20天;第二组作为对照组(n = 9),不接受EMR照射。检测眼部组织中的谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(GSH-Px)和过氧化氢酶(CAT)水平;此外,检测血液中的丙二醛(MDA)和还原型谷胱甘肽(GSH)水平。
两组大鼠眼部组织中GSH-Px(p = 0.99)和CAT(p = 0.18)活性无显著差异。两组大鼠血液中MDA(p = 0.69)和GSH水平(p = 0.83)无显著差异。
本研究结果表明,在短时间暴露情况下,3G手机辐射不会对大鼠的眼部组织和血液产生有害影响。
