An overview is given of the results from mode of action studies which improved our knowledge of some biochemical and/or electrophysiological aspects of parasitic helminths. Studies of the molecular mechanism of action of for example, antimonials, piperazine, levamisole, ivermectin, salicylanilides, praziquantel, benzimidazole carbamates, oxamniquine and hycanthone offered tools to learn more of the parasites and their hosts.
