Because of increasing pleural effusions, fetal hydrops and hydramnion a cesarean section was performed in the 31st week of pregnancy. The child died of pulmonary hypoplasia. The ante- and postnatal diagnosis and therapy and the poor prognosis of bilateral congenital hydrothorax are discussed.
